One night at around 2 am at the Coloft in Santa Monica, Mike Townsend, and Mark Sandstrom created a quick iPad app that could receive mobile drink orders. They called it Apptini, which down the road, became Flowtab. Flowtab was a mobile app that allowed people to order drinks quickly and easily at crowded bars, so people could avoid elbowing for a position at the bar counter. The app had zero fees for users and bars.
Sounds like a great idea, right? Well, unfortunately, the company shut down operation just 2 years after the release. However, Flowtab did a pretty amazing thing.
