Originated in San Bruno, California, Youtube is a video sharing website which was made in 2005 by former PayPal employees Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. It was then bought by Google a year later. Hosting everything from music videos to educational tutorials, Youtube's popularity has sky rocketed.
In 2005 Nike introduced the website by uploading an advertisement which reached one million views putting Youtube on the map. By 2014, "Youtubers" uploaded 300 hours of video every minute.
Youtube now offers live streaming which has been beneficial whether it be through a live concert or presidential speech. As of January 2016 the video uploading website has expanded to a 554,00 square foot complex which is the office to 2,800 employees.
